Psychedelitypes catalog (1968), together with
Davison
Psycho, a related style with slightly different, even
unrulier letterforms.
Adopted for dry transfer lettering by Mecanorma as
Contest
in or before 1969. Shown in their 1970 catalog without
Photo-Lettering credits (unlike other adaptations). Some glyphs of
Contest (‘B’) are either different from
Psyche or were included in PLINC’s version as
alternates.
Shown in Dan X. Solo’s Moderne Alphabets (Dover,
1999) as Leonard. In addition to Mecanorma’s digital
Contest, there’s also Nueva Passion
(Iconian, 2013) and More…
