Charleston (Ludwig & Mayer)

A reworking of Radium (Ludwig & Mayer, 1904), made by Hubertus Carl “Hace” Frey in one weight and released by Ludwig & Mayer as Charleston in 1967 [Reichardt 2011]. Mecanorma offered a dry-transfer version [1971 ad]. Phototype adaptations shown by Photoscript [Photoscript 1970] and Berthold [Berthold 1974].

There is a freebie digitization (anonymous, 1997, revised by “Character” in 2010, based on a showing by Dan X. Solo). Siegertypen made a private digitization for their “hace100” calendar, claiming it stays closer to the original. See also Radium FG (Fontgrube, 2022).
