acquired from Genzsch & Heyse by DeVinne and used as reference in
negotiations with the Central Type Foundry in 1888/90, which led to
the De
Vinne types. Lowercase designed by Heinz König and cast
by G&H in 1888 [Bertheau]
Accompanied by Römische Kursiv (1902) as well as
halbfett, schmalhalbfett and licht (open) styles. Klassische
Antiqua (1902) is a lighter weight.
The same design or adaptations/recuttings thereof were sold by
Farmer (as Bradford Old Style), Hansen (as
Crawford), Shanks (as Flemish Old Style),
Haddon (as Haddonian), Inland and Lanston Monotype (as
MacFarland),
