Le Fil – automne 2018
Poster/flyer by Camille Boileau for the autumn program of Le Fil, a music venue in Saint-Étienne, France. The typography mixes Surt’s default setting with some of its alternate, squarish glyphs. For the concert list on the back of the flyer, Surt is paired with hand-lettered month names.
This season’s visual is inspired by weaving and textile through the repeated interweaving of weaving shapes. With its vaporous aspect, the imagery could also suggest tulle fabric. The rough embroidery meets the 3D printing’s circuit in a modern architectural space.
As in the previous seasons, the ribbon imposes itself as the signature element of Le Fil’s communication, an image of the architectural façade which brings to mind the industrial history of the Rubannerie Stéphanoise.
