1,837 letterpress prints on newsprint that make up the entire short story The Mark on the Wall, witten and printed by Virginia Woolf. The installation was shown at Overlyssalen, Kunstnernes Hus, in January 2019. The work is a reflection and investigation of the process of typesetting, as Virginia Woolf was teaching herself to typeset as the story was written. A reflection on my suspicion that Woolf changed words as she was setting type in order to get her lines to add up, by looking at every single word and punctuation as both form and content. The installation invites the viewer to a whole new reading experience, playing on the short storys lack of a linear narrative. The work is the final result of my practice based PhD in Graphic Design at Oslo National Academy of the Arts.
