Denmark at Jarasum Jazz Festival 2019
During the 60 years anniversary of diplomatic connection, a number of cultural exchange projects takes place between the two nations. of South Korea and Denmark. The Danish participation at the Jarasum International Festival is a part of this celebration – with Denmark being the official 2019 partnership country at the festival during three days.
e-Types developed the concept for the happening as well as led its consecutive layout over festival print matter and campaign material.The design system has been created based off of a culturally integrative approach to the task and a desire to embrace and represent both the host country and visiting nations equally throughout the design.
The end result is an all together bilingual design solution, where the two primary languages English and Korean, using Studio 6 by Playtype, are made fully legible from two different directions at once throughout the layouts. Turning to the center of the paper, the center spread was designed as a 2-in-1 concept featuring both newspaper and festival poster.
