    Centennial paperback edition of The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, published by Back Bay Books in November of 2018. The author’s name and the title on the front cover are set in italic Ultra Bodoni. “Centennial Edition” is set in Shaimus [or rather Trade Gothic Bold Condensed #20 or similar, see comments], while the text on the inside of the gatefold and on the spine is set in Futura. The interior is set in Caledonia.

      I’ve replaced Transitional 511 with Caledonia. The former is the name of Bitstream’s digitization. It’s largely identical to Linotype’s New Caledonia, but has shorter descenders. The book typography shows long descenders.

      I don’t think the condensed sans is Shaimus. This typeface wasn’t released before October 2019 – a year after this book was published. Also its E is narrower. I’d assume it’s something less obscure. Alternate Gothic and Bebas Neue come close, but my money is on Trade Gothic Bold Condensed #20.
