Karambolage is a short (12 minutes) Franco-German television program broadcast every Sunday on Arte and dedicated to French and German cultures and the cultures of the minorities in both countries.

In a playful and humorous tone, the program looks at what brings these two cultures together and what separates them, both from a linguistic point of view, with comparative etymologies, and from the small habits of these two countries. Through the crossed views of Germans towards France and of French towards Germany, a comparison is drawn up in various sections such as: the daily life, the object, the word, the ritual, what I miss, the inventory, the onomatopoeia, without forgetting the one that always ends the show: the riddle.

Each sequence is produced by a different illustrator and presenter, but the TV dressing remains the same. It is composed in BVH Newut, which has the particularity of having the uppercase letters at the same height as the lowercase letters. This characteristic allows representing the bilingual French-German texts in an equal gray value in a unique way.
