Circulo by Michael Mayr (@mike_jdi) is used in a travelling exhibition across Europe, curated by Vienna-based design agency EOOS NEXT. The exhibition is about regenerative design using corals as an example.

More information from the Institute of Design Research Vienna (IDRV):

The Historical Museum of Sarajevo hosts the first edition of the experimental exhibition format. Conceived as an impulse exhibition, it is the kick-off for a cooperation with teachers and students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo. The central question of the exhibition deals with the concept of “regenerative design”, which finds its realization in the principles of nature. The current production systems of the Global North are degenerative, extractive and at best with neutral environmental impacts – “Net-Zero“. For “unavoidable” environmental impacts, industry washes its hands of CO₂ certificates from the Global South. Primeval forests are capitalized and people living in poverty are turned into compensation projects. The separation of nature and culture, of humans and non-human living beings and organisms prevents a necessary paradigm shift towards a regenerative culture.
