Dolly Dolittle’s Crime Club is a series of seven crime story compilations, selected by Dr. Dolly Dolittle and published by Diogenes in their paperback imprint, detebe (short for Diogenes Taschenbuch). The cover typeface is Hobo. While the publisher’s name was initially shown in Garamond Italic, it later appeared in Hobo, too. Starting with volume 5, the superscript number uses Edel-Grotesk.

  1. According to Diogenes, the series was published between 1971 and 1990. I don’t know when the depicted books with yellow and black covers came out, though. It looks like the original edition starting in 1971 used Hobo on the covers, too, but in white on black, with two-colored diagonal stripes.

Various illustrators contributed to the series, including Sempé (vol. 2, I suppose?), Loriot (vol. 3), Jean Bosc, and Paul Flora.
