Formerly known as Ornamented No. 1513, this face
originated about 1854 with the Caslon foundry [McGrew
1993]. Other sources mention the Bruce foundry [Reichardt
2011]. Farmer’s Ornamented series is distinguished
by more spurs in the lowercase. Austin Wood had this style as
Ornamented (all caps) and Tuscan Shaded
(w/ lowercase). Cast as Bailey Shaded by Charlie Broad
at Typefounders of Phoenix in the 1950s. Matrices were sold to the
Los Angeles Type Founders and then on to Barco Type Foundry and
