A series of annual posters designed by Milton Glaser for the Juilliard School, a private performing arts conservatory in New York City.

The noble caps used with lavish letterspacing are from ITC Novarese, designed by Aldo Novarese (1920–1995) and released in 1980. Novarese was born on this day 100 years ago. Archivio Tipografico just launched a crowdfunding campaign to bring his Alfa-Beta (1964) back in print. This seminal book presents Novarese’s view on the history of writing systems and the evolution of type, including his own classification system.

The posters measure 36×24″ (91×61 cm). Copies are available from Milton Glaser, Inc. The original art is currently being auctioned by Wright.
