Ready Nattie Dready is the debut album of Dillinger (born Lester Bullock, Jamaica, 1953) who would have a short moment of world fame the next year with “Cocaine in my Brain”, the superhit from his third album CB 200 (1976).

This Studio One release shows a portrait of Dillinger framed by his name in stacked glyphs of Buxom (a copy of Baby Fat with less detailed shadows in rounded glyphs) on the left, and the album title set in Hopfen, a Fotostar version of Sintex with (top heavy) alternates for most characters.

“Ten To One”, “DILLINGER” and “SIDE 1” are set in what looks like Spartan or Twentieth Century – but details are different, like for instance the wider “E”. A wider version of this and other characters was available the Classified styles of both typeface families, made for setting small type in advertisements.
