A typeface with biform alternates designed by Aldo Novarese for VGC. Several sources give a 1973 date, but Sintex already appears in PLINC’s Alphabet Thesaurus Vol. 3 (1971) and was used in 1970. Fotostar’s version was called Hopfen (also shown in Castcraft’s 1978 catalog). Shown in the Solotype catalog (1992) as Sintex No. 1.
Formatt had a version for dry-transfer lettering named Keyhole. Unlike Sintex, upper- and lowercase glyphs don’t have a common height. Keyhole is shown in their catalogs Nos. 5 (1974) and 7 (1981) with numerous (exclusive?) alternates.
Sintex is similar to Strada (1967), Zipper (1970) and Beat Star (1972). Stretto is a digital revival.
