    Dust jacket by an unknown designer for the St Martin’s Press first edition of the science fiction novel Gateway by Frederik Pohl. Jacket illustration by Boris Vallejo. Winner of the 1977 Nebula Award and 1978 Hugo Award for Best Novel.

    The front panel, front flap and spine of the jacket as well as the interior title page all feature text set in Earth. The front and back flaps also feature additional text set in Times. The book’s hardcover is in publisher’s blue cloth with gilt titles set in Earth on the spine.

    A minor modification has been made to the T in the title, which in its usual form may have appeared like an r to the viewer.
