Mam’gobozi Design Factory (Mam’G) rebranded Cape Town microbrewery Ukhamba Beerworx with inspiration based in South Africa’s Nguni culture. Mam’G intended “to create a homage to the past while also acknowledging the ritual of the present,” as seen in the evolution of the logo and integration of Ukhamba pottery motifs.
The updated identity carries over the typographic aesthetic of the company’s previous logo, with the name in rounded condensed sans caps (customized from Bebas Neue). Aglet Sans serves as a soft secondary typeface, and Titillium is used for text at smaller sizes. See the case study on Behance for more.
