Title page of a booklet issued for a convention by the International Bible Students Association (Watch Tower), held in July 1931 at the Auditorium State Fair Grounds, Columbus, Ohio, attracting some 15,000 Bible Students. It was at this convention that the name Jehovah’s Witnesses was adopted.

The typeface(s?) used in the top half is unidentified. The caps are a bit similar to designs like Erasmus-Mediaeval (1923), Richter-Antiqua (1925), Lipsia-Antiqua (1911), or Kronen-Mediäval (1913), but none of them comes really close. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

“All Meetings” uses Announcement Italic, designed by Morris Fuller Benton in 1916 and first cast by ATF in 1918. It’s here used with its ng ligature. Rebecca Alaccari did a digital revival as Odette (Canada Type, 2004).

“Coliseum, at the Fair Grounds” is set in Colwell Handletter. This ATF release from 1917 is based on the work of Elizabeth Colwell, described in 1947 as the “only American woman type designer known”. McKenna Handletter NF (2002) is a digital interpretation by Nick Curtis.
