From Wikipedia:

Star Frontiers is a science fiction role-playing game produced by TSR from 1982 to 1985. The game offered a space opera action-adventure setting.

Front panel of the game box features the Star Frontiers title set in Earth, skewed on an angle for added impact, with additional text set in Eurostile. Cover art by Larry Elmore.

Text featured on print ad is set in Akzidenz-Grotesk (a.k.a. Standard) [see comments].

  1. Are you sure it’s Standard? It appears to be Helvetica to me. Just looks at those details!

  2. It does look closer to Helvetica. I think what threw us off is the angled terminal in e. My best guess is that it’s some apocryphal Helvetica version. AG Book does have an angled terminal in e, but that’s not it. I also checked against some of the clones and close copies from the era, like Triumvirate, Helios, Claro, Megaron, but as far as I can tell, it’s neither of those.

I’ve tagged Helvetica and added the “uncertain typeface ID” tag for the moment.
