Bauer Types S.L. is a typeface design and distribution company
based in Barcelona. It is the successor of two well-known type
foundries of the 20th century: Bauersche Giesserei
in Frankfurt, Germany (1837–1972) and Fundición Tipográfica
Neufville, S.A. in Barcelona (1885–1995). Bauer Types owns the
copyrights and trademarks of typefaces developed by both companies
– incl. Futura –
as well as of others created by various foundries acquired over the
years:
Fundición Tipográfica Nacional (1971), FTF (1974),
Ludwig &
Mayer (1985), and Les Fonderies Réunies de Caractères du Liban
(1988). Bauer Types offers services around typographic consultancy,
implementation of digital typefaces, language coverage of fonts,
license management, and design services.
