ITC Busorama

Designed by Tom Carnase. Some sources incl. Klingspor Museum additionally credit Herb Lubalin. Issued by ITC in 3 weights; Light, Medium, Bold. No lowercase, but several alternates incl. biform glyphs for ‘AEIMNR’. Adopted for dry transfer lettering by Mecanorma (Light, Bold) [Mecanorma 1974]. The Bold was carried by Letraset, Formatt, and Zip-a-Tone. A Phil’s Photo catalog from 1980 shows a fourth Book weight. VGC had a copy called Omnibus.

Digital versions by ITC (3 weights, no alternates), URW (Bold, some alts), Bitstream (Medium, no alts, with new symmetrical ‘A’), Castcraft (as OPTI Buffer, Light and Medium, some alts).
