Etienne schmal

Made at Wagner & Schmidt in 1880 and cast as Schmale Etienne by Bauer and J. John. Also sold as Schmale fette Etienne by Berthold, Haas, and Stempel; as Halbfette Etienne by Schriftguss AG; as Fette Etienne by Gebr. Arndt [Seemann] and as Vette verlengde Etienne by Amsterdam. Shown in a specimen by FTF from 1920 as Estienne (used for the sample). It is not clear which foundry issued the original version.

Estienne (Solotype) is a digital version that goes back to “just before 1900 in France”.
