Two styles from the Filmotype library, used together on the cover of The Ping Pong Sound Of Guitars In Percussion, recorded by Eddie Wayne & Group. First released by Coronet Records in 1961, this is the stereo version from 1963.

Filmotype Royal was one of Filmotype’s earliest transitional serif typefaces, inspired by lettering used on steam-era passenger train coaches. [Filmotype] Originally available in an expanded width only, the digital version by Charles Gibbons expands the design to five widths.

Filmotype Wave was classified in Filmotype catalogs as a Flat Serif or Copperplate style. It’s essentially a bold wide design with low-contrast strokes and horizontal terminals, distinguished by tiny flare serifs. Wave hasn’t been digitized yet.
