A promotional brochure for type foundry Ludwig & Mayer using Permanent Headline and Permanent halbfett (medium/semibold). The headline (“gestern, heute, morgen”) means “yesterday, today, tomorrow”. The reverse site reads “Decorative Type(?), Jobbing Type, Poster Type”.

Garnituren is the German word for styles or cuts. Auszeichnung is the term for typographic emphasis. It doesn’t have to be decorative in the narrow sense of the word, it can also be used for an extralight or ultrabold cut, or an Italic. A literal translation for Auszeichnungsgarnituren would be ‘accentuating styles’.
