The popular Australian soap first aired in 1988 and thus predates The Simpsons by about a year.
Not only does it continue to boast a solid following of fans over the Commonwealth, it has stuck solidly with the Reporter typeface since its inception (see timeline below).

Home and Away and Reporter go back all the way to the pilot episode. The opening titles in the early years used details of its dry brush letterforms as masks, see the title cards from 1988 above. The close-up below reveals that, back then, the original Reporter has been used, and not the digitally available Reporter No. 2, which is a simplified version with far fewer gaps inside the main strokes.
The fan site Back to the Bay has done a great job at compiling all kinds of info about the show, including images of the various titles and credits that have been used over the years. The newer logos — including the banner posted by Robert — unsurprisingly use the solid Reporter No. 2.

The capital H in the original as opposed to all subsequent title cards is one tipoff as to the new design.
