Like Wagner & Schmidt, Riegerl & Weißenborn was a Leipzig-based company specialized in punch cutting and engraving. It supplied type matrices to foundries who then cast their own versions of the typefaces and offered them under different names. Founded 1897 by Gustav Paul Riegerl and Hermann Georg Paul Weißenborn (d. 1928; succeeded by Richard Paul Hofmann). Dissolved in 1938. Assets were acquired by Ludwig & Mayer. [Bauer/Reichardt]
