A.k.a. Typefounders of Chicago and Type Films of Chicago. Founded in 1946 by David L. Kreiter (1915–1975) and later led by brother Harry Kreiter (1918–2018). Acquired Neon in 1959. Later produced some of the earliest digital fonts under the OPTI label. The OPTIFONT trademark was registered in 1975 [USPTO]. Transfertech was a subsidiary of Castcraft [Art Material Trade News, 1991] that offered dry-transfer adaptations.
